Never say checking one more time doesn’t pay off.

08 June 05 - 09:08am.

I was sitting around this morning feeling sorry for myself because it was looking like it would be a very long time before I would be able to buy a laptop, if it was going to happen at all. I was talking to Ken about my research and such, and how I couldn’t find [...]

Impulsive and impatient, but not unreasonable.

07 June 05 - 04:23pm.

I spent most of today researching laptops. After the options I had available to me, I’ve become picky. I want a widescreen with a high resolution (1280×800+), and I want a 12.1″ or 13.3″. (I didn’t even know 13.3″ laptops existed, but evidently they do, but I have yet to see any [...]

Sneaky bastards.

I was up last night until almost 4am. I talked with everyone extensively and determined that it made the most sense to get the minimum ram (Side note: NEVER buy ram from Dell or any other place like it. Unless you like being ass-raped.)and the smallest harddrive, and upgrade to the extended battery. [...]

Good timing and impulse buys.

06 June 05 - 11:43pm.

The unfortunate thing about impulse buying is that there’s no planning involved. Which usually means a week after you make your impulse purchase, you’ll find the same thing you purchased for half the price or you’ll find something much better for the same price. Usually.
I decided tonight that I’m tired of being the [...]

Kattni - 1 :: Ubuntu - OWNED.

04 May 05 - 01:28pm.

The onboard NIC is currently enabled.
Still having the same problems as yesterday.
First random attempt was to add pci=routeirq to the end of the kernel line. This did nothing.
I booted into the oldest kernel (there were three on the list including the newest one), and ran:

lspci | grep -i ethernet

which returned:

0000:04:00.0 Ethernet controller: Marvell [...]

Kattni - 0 :: Ubuntu - 1

02 May 05 - 12:19pm.

I tried to install electric sheep last week. And it wasn’t working, so I assumed that I was doing something wrong, since I remembered it being really simple, and nothing I was doing worked. So a few minutes ago, I asked Ken what you do to install electric sheep. And he told [...]

Kattni - 1 :: Ubuntu - 0

28 April 05 - 02:39pm.

Kyle said today: “You would have a great future in QA.”
He has no idea.
We got the new machines for our labs. They got here this morning. One of the people upstairs mentioned to me that there was some guy hanging around outside our labs with a bunch of new computer boxes on a [...]

Behold the wonder that is… Powerbook: Part 4.

10 October 03 - 02:34pm.

Hot. Super hot. Much Mac luvin.
My laptop is now my shadow. Or perhaps more accurately it’s mine. My entire schedule is entered into the planner in my email program, all colour coded. OMG organisation! I’ve downloaded and installed all the Mac-equivilants of the programs I was using on my PC. I’ve [...]
